Tommy has been having a lot of fun with his train table we purchased earlier this summer - at a garage sale for a great price! He could spend most of the afternoon playing with his trains - big, small, and he even puts cars and trucks and tractors on the table.Some of his favorite things to do are run the trains all around the track we set up - here you can see the hill and he makes "chug" noises while the trains go up the hill and then "wheeeee" while they go down - yes, we watch Thomas the Train DVDs.
He's also really good at putting the animals in the "circus" cars - and he knows all of the different animals there are - elephant, pig, horse/donkey.
And when he gets tired of playing nicely, he usually crashes the trains together or if he's really mad about something, he throws them.
On Sunday we visited a very small train museum in a nearby town. Tommy fell asleep on the way there, and when he woke up and saw trains in front of him, he was thrilled.

And we ended the day with a trip to Dairy Queen where Tommy got his own baby size ice cream!

Tommy's 2 now, right? Was the train museum in South Elgin or Union? He's getting so big. I wonder if FCVN is going to get together for the boat parade in Chinatown? I think that is in July. We are still in the Vietnam program, so we could still go. Hopefully, things will work out and current dossiers will be "grandfathered in". I guess we will just have to wait and see.
